Ken Danby: The New Decade

by Paul Duval

Ken Danby: The New Decade is Paul Duval’s substantial illustrated study of the celebrated Canadian realist artist. Published by Stoddart in 1984 as a Gallery Moos Book, this first-edition art monograph contains approximately 196 pages and more than 170 colour and black-and-white illustrations. It surveys Danby’s paintings, watercolours, drawings and graphic work while discussing the development and methods behind his highly detailed realism.

This hardcover copy retains its pictorial dust jacket and is flat signed by Ken Danby on the title page. The visible signature is by the artist and subject of the book; Paul Duval is the credited author. A Victoria College bookmark bearing the printed wording “Signed by the author” accompanies the volume.

Very Good overall as stated by the seller. The dust jacket displays mild edge and corner wear, faint surface handling or soiling, and minor age toning. The photographed title and copyright pages appear generally clean, but this should not be taken as a statement that every page is flawless.

A desirable signed Canadian art reference for collectors of Ken Danby, Canadian realism and twentieth-century Canadian art. Please review all photographs carefully, as they form part of the description. The book will be packaged carefully to help protect the dust jacket and signed title page in transit.
