So Many Worlds

by Dieter Bachmann & Daniel Schwartz

So Many Worlds: A Photographic Record of Our Time by Dieter Bachmann and Daniel Schwartz. This is the 1996 First North American Edition issued by Bulfinch Press, an imprint of Little, Brown and Company. It is a large-format hardcover in dust jacket, containing 288 pages and 255 duotone photographs. Published specifications give dimensions of approximately 31.4 x 24.9 x 3 cm and a weight of about 1.96 kg.

Drawn from the photographic archive of the Swiss cultural magazine du, the book creates a visual record of world history from 1941 to 1995. Its images encompass war, displacement, labour, childhood, public life and ordinary human experience, with work by more than 100 photographers. The publication accompanied a touring exhibition that opened in Holderbank, Switzerland, in September 1995. A contemporary Irish Times photography survey singled it out as an outstanding vérité photography volume of 1996.

The hardcover and dust jacket are in Very Good condition as graded by the seller, with light edge and corner wear visible on the jacket. The representative interior pages photographed appear clean and show the quality of the book’s black-and-white reproductions. No signature status is represented.

Please review all photographs carefully, as they form part of the description and show the actual copy offered.
