Final Cut is a richly illustrated graphic novel written and drawn

by Charles Burns

Final Cut is a richly illustrated graphic novel written and drawn by Charles Burns, the acclaimed creator of Black Hole. This Pantheon hardcover is the 2024 first edition and first printing, identified by the complete number line on its copyright page. It was produced with illustrated boards and a red cloth spine, without a dust jacket as issued.

The story follows Brian, a talented artist and aspiring filmmaker who travels with a group of friends to make an 8 mm science-fiction horror movie inspired by classic alien-invasion cinema. As his feelings for Laurie become entangled with the film, his drawings and fantasies increasingly blur the boundaries between creativity, romantic obsession, dreams and reality. Burns tells the story through vivid colour sequences, stark monochrome passages and meticulously rendered imagery.

Final Cut was named among the notable graphic novels of 2024 and received a 2025 Eisner Award nomination for Best Graphic Album—New. Charles Burns also won the 2025 Eisner Award for Best Writer/Artist for a body of work that included Final Cut.

The seller describes this copy as like new. The illustrated boards, cloth spine and representative interior pages appear clean and well preserved, with no visible writing, stains, tears or notable page toning in the supplied photographs. Please review all photos carefully, as they form part of the description.
