Signed
Any Known Blood
A signed first edition, third printing of Any Known Blood by Lawrence Hill, published by HarperCollins Publishers Ltd. in 1997. The title page bears a personalized presentation inscription signed by Hill and dated April 16, 1998. This is an inscribed copy rather than a flat-signed copy.
Hill's sweeping historical novel follows five generations of a Black family across the Canada–United States border, moving between nineteenth-century Virginia, the Underground Railroad, and modern Oakville, Ontario. Through one man's investigation of his ancestry, the novel explores family legacy, racial identity, belonging, and the ways personal histories cross national borders. An Oakville passage from the novel was later recognized by Project Bookmark Canada as part of the country's literary trail.
Hardcover with dust jacket and deckle-edge pages. The pages have age-related toning. The dust jacket shows conspicuous rubbing, scuffing, edge and corner wear, and patches of surface or colour loss, especially along the upper edge and at the upper corners. It has been placed in a removable clear plastic protective cover.
Please examine all photographs carefully, as they form part of the description.
