Unaccountable
Unaccountable: Truth and Lies on Parliament Hill by Kevin Page, published in 2015 by Viking, an imprint of Penguin Canada. This is the hardcover first Canadian edition in its dust jacket, with a number line beginning at 2 that identifies it as a second printing.
The title page is flat signed by Kevin Page, Canada’s first Parliamentary Budget Officer. The signature is not visibly personalized. Drawing on Page’s experience in public service and on Parliament Hill, the book examines government accountability, fiscal transparency and Parliament’s ability to obtain reliable information when scrutinizing executive decisions.
The book includes bibliographical references and an index. It is an especially relevant Canadian political title for readers interested in public finance, parliamentary institutions and the development of the Parliamentary Budget Office.
This copy has notable age-related page toning. The seller also discloses a yellow “pasting pot” defect or mark. The dust jacket shows light edge and corner wear, including minor rubbing visible at the lower corners. Please review the photographs for the appearance of this specific signed copy.
