Fingersmith

Fingersmith by Sarah Waters, published in hardcover by Virago Press in 2002. The copyright page records eight reprints during the year of publication, making this the ninth impression of the first UK edition. The original pictorial dust jacket is included, with ISBN 9781860498824.

Set in Victorian England, this intricately plotted historical crime novel follows Sue Trinder into a scheme involving an orphaned heiress, deception and shifting loyalties. Fingersmith was shortlisted for the 2002 Man Booker Prize and became one of Waters’s best-known novels.

This copy is signed and personally inscribed by Sarah Waters on the title page. The blue-ink inscription reads “To Anita—Best wishes,” followed by the author’s signature. It is therefore an inscribed author-signed copy rather than a flat-signed example.

Seller-graded Very Good. The dust jacket has light edge and corner wear, minor creasing at the spine ends and upper rear corner, and a few small surface scuffs or marks. The photographed title and copyright pages appear clean aside from the author’s inscription. The book will be carefully protected for mailing.
