The photographs are distinguished by restrained compositions, expansive tonal range, meditative atmosphere, and an aesthetic joining modern monochrome technique with the visual character of traditional Chinese ink painting. The book received a Benny award at the 70th Printing Industries of America competition for its production and printing.
