In This House Are Many Women and Other Poems
A signed copy of In This House Are Many Women and Other Poems by acclaimed Canadian poet and author Sheree Fitch. Published by Goose Lane Editions in 1993, this is the original softcover edition, fourth printing, with ISBN 0-86492-164-0.
Fitch’s first collection of adult poetry brings together women’s voices and experiences involving shelter, domestic violence, poverty, motherhood, relationships, work, home, suffering, humour, and resilience. The poems marked a notable departure from the playful children’s verse for which Fitch was already known and first appeared together in book form in this collection.
This copy is personally inscribed and signed by Sheree Fitch in blue ink on the dedication page and dated 1995. Portions of the personalized inscription are difficult to decipher, so please consult the close-up photograph for the exact wording.
The softcover is in Very Good condition, with light rubbing and handling wear, modest edge and corner wear, a small nick or shallow chip at the upper front-cover edge, and light creasing on the rear cover. The photographed interior pages are clean and legible. No dust jacket, as issued. Please review all photographs carefully, as they form part of the description.
