The Fire Line
The Fire Line is Trevor Ferguson's 1995 literary novel about Reed Kitchen, an eccentric, relentlessly talkative lifelong railway worker who travels to a bridge-repair job near Prince Rupert, British Columbia. Against a rugged coastal and railway setting, Reed encounters deception, violence, unexpected alliances, and narrow escapes in a story noted for its lyrical, unconventional use of language.
