The Bleeding Land
The Bleeding Land by Giles Kristian, published in hardcover by Bantam Press in 2012. The copyright page states that this was the book's first publication in Great Britain, and the complete number line confirms a first printing. This copy includes its pictorial dust jacket, which is protected in a removable clear plastic cover.
Set in England in 1642, the novel opens Kristian's English Civil War series and follows the Rivers family as loyalties to King and Parliament divide both the country and their household. The story moves from the raising of the royal standard toward the Battle of Edgehill, combining family conflict, divided allegiances and battlefield action.
This copy is signed by Giles Kristian on the title page. The author has also added a handwritten quotation and date notation, making it an inscribed presentation rather than a strictly flat-signed copy. No named recipient is visible.
The dust jacket shows minor visible shelf wear around its edges and corners. The photographed rear flap has some surface rippling or creasing near the top and scattered small marks, although part of its aged appearance appears to be incorporated into the printed design. The displayed title and copyright pages are readily legible. The book will be carefully protected for packaging.
