The Green Road

by Anne Enright

The Green Road by Anne Enright, offered here in the 2015 McClelland & Stewart Canadian first edition and first printing. This hardcover copy includes its pictorial dust jacket and has been flat signed by Anne Enright on the title page. A signed-copy sticker is also present.

Enright's novel follows Rosaleen Madigan and her four adult children, whose lives take them from western Ireland to Dublin, New York and Mali. When Rosaleen announces that she intends to sell the family home, the children return for a final Christmas gathering, bringing old loyalties, disappointments and unresolved family tensions with them. The result is a sharply observed literary portrait of family, memory, belonging and the changing face of Ireland.

The Green Road won the 2015 Irish Book Award for Novel of the Year and the Kerry Group Irish Novel of the Year, and it was longlisted for the 2015 Man Booker Prize. Enright previously won the 2007 Man Booker Prize for The Gathering.

Very Good overall, with light edge and corner wear to the dust jacket and minor handling along the upper jacket edge. Faint blue signature ink is visible through or offset onto the copyright-page side. One photographed author-biography page appears clean in the visible area. Please review all photographs carefully, as they form part of the description. The book will be carefully packaged for protection in transit.
