World of Monochrome (黑白适界), a large-format black-and-white photography collection
Signed first-edition, first-printing copy of World of Monochrome (黑白适界), a large-format black-and-white photography collection by Duan Yueheng. This 2018 cloth-covered hardcover was published by China Nationalities Photography Art Publishing House in a stated print run of only 3,000 copies. It was designed without a dust jacket and features an inset monochrome photograph on the black cloth front cover.
Duan Yueheng’s third photography collection brings together work made over several years with Sigma cameras and lenses. Its finely controlled landscapes range from snow-covered Hokkaido and Venice to mountains, deserts, water, trees, and intimate natural forms. The photographs are distinguished by restrained compositions, expansive tonal range, meditative atmosphere, and an aesthetic joining modern monochrome technique with the visual character of traditional Chinese ink painting. The book received a Benny award at the 70th Printing Industries of America competition for its production and printing.
This copy is flat signed by Duan Yueheng beneath his portrait, with no personalized inscription visible. It is in Like New condition according to the seller. The black cloth boards appear clean and well preserved, and the representative photographed interior pages appear bright, clean, and unmarked with crisp monochrome reproduction. No dust jacket is present because none was issued by design.
A scarce, signed, limited-production photobook for collectors of contemporary landscape photography, Chinese photographic art, monochrome printing, or artist-signed books. Please review all photographs carefully, as they form part of the description. The book will be packaged carefully to protect its large-format cloth binding and corners in transit.
