The Regulars

by Michael Donald

The Regulars: Made in Belfast is Michael Donald’s 2004 documentary photo book about the regular patrons of Belfast’s John Hewitt bar. Photographed and interviewed over the course of a year, the participants form a record of a particular gathering place and the people who repeatedly brought it to life.

The book combines black-and-white environmental portraits with identifying captions and short pieces of biographical or community context. The photographed spreads show Belfast residents in the pub setting, giving the volume the character of a local social history as well as a portrait-photography project.

Published by MKD Photography Ltd. under ISBN 9780954885007. This is the hardcover format, with illustrated boards and no dust jacket as issued by design.

Seller-graded Very Good. The boards have light rubbing, scuffs and scratches, with modest wear at the edges, corners and spine ends. The representative interior pages shown appear clean, with the photographs and text clearly presented.
