Author profile

Victoria Aveyard

Victoria Aveyard (born 1990) is an American writer of young-adult and fantasy fiction and a screenwriter. Raised in Massachusetts, she studied screenwriting at the University of Southern California before establishing herself as a novelist. Her official biography identifies her as the author of the Red Queen series and the Realm Breaker trilogy.

Aveyard’s fiction is associated with high-stakes fantasy worlds, political conflict, and ensemble quests. Red Queen, the opening novel of her first major series, introduced a society divided by blood status and led to further novels and companion fiction in the same setting. She later turned to a separate epic-fantasy narrative in Realm Breaker, the first volume of a completed trilogy following Corayne an-Amarat and a group of companions confronting threats to their world.

Her official site reports that her books have sold millions of copies and appeared in more than 40 languages. In 2015, Red Queen received the Goodreads Choice Award for Debut Goodreads Author, a reader-voted distinction. Aveyard continues to publish and maintain a public author platform from Los Angeles.
