Jan Udo Holey

Jan Udo Holey (born March 22, 1967), widely known by his pseudonym Jan van Helsing, is a controversial German author, publisher, and prominent figure within right-wing esotericism and conspiracy theory circles. Raised in Dinkelsbühl, Germany, he traveled extensively throughout the late 1980s before establishing Amadeus Verlag in Fichtenau, a publishing house through which he manages his own catalog and related esoteric titles. Holey vaulted into intense public and legal scrutiny with his mid-1990s debut series, Geheimgesellschaften und ihre Macht im 20. Jahrhundert (Secret Societies and their Power in the 20th Century). His writings—which blend occultism, alternative histories, and global domination theories—were condemned by political scientists and federal authorities for harboring deep-seated antisemitic tropes and historical revisionism, leading a German court to ban the first two volumes for incitement to hatred (Volksverhetzung). Despite these bans and widespread classification as a right-wing extremist by the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution, Holey remains active in alternative media. He continues to write and self-publish underground hits via his company—including Hände weg von diesem Buch! and his recent hollow-earth and hidden civilization military exposé, Abyss (2025).
