Damien Cox is a Canadian journalist, broadcaster, and author whose work has focused substantially on professional hockey, especially the Toronto Maple Leafs and the National Hockey League. His reporting and commentary have appeared across newspaper, radio, television, and digital formats, placing sports history, team management, and the public life of hockey within a wider Canadian media context.
Cox began at the Toronto Star in 1985 and spent 29 years there as a reporter and columnist; publisher and broadcaster biographies credit him with covering the Maple Leafs and the NHL for 25 seasons. His assignments have also included Stanley Cup Finals, Winter Olympics, World Cups, and Wimbledon. In broadcast media, he co-hosted Prime Time Sports and worked as a hockey analyst and contributor for Sportsnet. With Gord Stellick, he co-wrote '67, a book on the Maple Leafs’ 1967 Stanley Cup season and its aftermath.
