Author profile

Ben Casnocha

Ben Casnocha (born March 7, 1988) is an acclaimed American entrepreneur, author, and venture capitalist who is widely recognized for his forward-thinking frameworks on career management, workplace dynamics, and tech investing. He demonstrated an early entrepreneurial drive by founding Comcate, Inc.—an e-government software company delivering CRM solutions to local governments across America—at just 14 years old. Casnocha later built a close professional partnership with LinkedIn founder Reid Hoffman, serving as his chief of staff at both LinkedIn and Greylock Partners. This collaboration yielded two seminal business books: the New York Times bestseller The Start-Up of You (2012), which outlines how individuals can navigate the modern economy by treating their careers like adaptable startups, and The Alliance (2014, co-authored with Chris Yeh), which provides a blueprint for managing entrepreneurial talent through honest "tours of duty". Channeling his extensive network and expertise back into the Silicon Valley ecosystem, Casnocha co-founded Village Global in 2017. Operating as a General Partner, he leads the network-driven early-stage venture capital firm, which manages over $500 million in assets and actively backs ambitious tech founders worldwide.
